Senior Marketing Manager, Medical Oncology

Purpose
The Senior Marketing Manager will define and implement the European marketing strategy and plan for the Medical Oncology segment within Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS). This new role will further develop the position of BD MDS in the fields of drug preparation, administration and vascular access care, developing and driving customer relevant solutions and programs across target audiences and channels in Medical Oncology.

The role will manage brand and solutions development in the region based on the World Wide strategies and European opportunities. It has responsibility to ensure the right balance of focus and investment to both drive market development and share of category. In addition, this role will manage the day-to-day regional & global interactions to successfully achieve the goals for the portfolio and solutions offering.

The Medical Oncology priority covers multiple product platforms, including our Hazardous drugs safety and IV access and administration for Oncology drugs portfolio and works closely with other business units to drive the Oncology offer across BD Europe. The position has two direct reports and the support of other functions within MDS and the Center of Excellence for Marketing Communications. This high profile role leads significant growth in MDS with a strong pipeline of new product launches and solutions delivery.

The success of the Medical Oncology segment requires close collaboration across product platforms and functions at European level, with the country teams to implement marketing strategies and programs at a local country level as well as working with the World Wide Platforms in MPS. Effective communication, engagement and collaboration is key to this role.

Responsibilities
o Development of brand strategy and execution plans for area of responsibility
o Drive market development and shaping activities working with relevant internal and external stakeholders
o Develop deep customer and market insight to enable fact based strategies and decisions.
o Provide in-depth knowledge on market trends, competition and key influencers
o Building collaborative relationships within the region and worldwide teams
o Works collaboratively within the regional marketing team and with the country teams to support strategic imperatives and go to market approaches across the portfolio
o Coaching and development of direct team
o Monitor and address business and marketing indicators

Qualifications & Experience
o Degree level qualification in business or science.
o Marketing Diploma or MBA preferred
o 7 years minimum experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical sector in marketing, market development, commercial or other relevant roles
o International or European marketing experience.
o In-depth knowledge and understanding of the European healthcare and procurement drivers and the healthcare industry in general.
o Clinical acumen
o Team management experience
o Previous experience in the Oncology or Pharmacy field preferred
o IT competent, including CRM systems
o Fluent in English. A further major European language would be an advantage
o Willingness to travel minimum 20% (up to 40%)
