As the extended enterprise grows and becomes more complex, the ability to manage third-party relationships becomes more critical to success than ever before. Organisations that hesitate to expand their ecosystem, out of fear of the potential risks it could create, will likely be outpaced by organizations that boldly decide to seize the value of third-party relationships, confident in their ability to effectively identify and manage the accompanying risks.


Many organisations have already experienced the consequences from shortcomings of third-party providers. They range from brand and reputational damage to regulatory penalties and the disruption of the ability to meet customer expectations. Furthermore, insufficient management and oversight of third parties often results in contract value leakages in areas such as overcharges, missed service credits as well as discounts and rebates. The implementation of a robust enterprise wide Third Party Risk Framework helps companies to manage the risk associated with third party interactions along the entire lifecycle.


Our EERM team helps clients to overcome these risks and create value for their organizations by reducing the risk of adverse events and bringing cash back in the organization. With the creation of Deloitte North-West Europe, our Strategic & Operational team has grown rapidly. We have the largest Third-Party Risk Management capability of the “big 4” in the European marketplace with over 450 EERM specialists in the European market. The team combines a wealth of deep industry knowledge with both business advisory experience and technical expertise. Within this team, we provide our clients a full spectrum of third-party risk services, from current state assessments and contract compliance reviews to large-scale transformation programmes, fixing issues and delivering real, long-lasting benefits.

Role description


With a number of existing large-scale projects running, we are currently looking for a Senior Manager to lead the Extended Enterprise Risk Management topic. You are expected to strengthen and grow the team, and it will be your responsibility to take over existing projects as well as to build the market and establish a leading service in Switzerland.

Responsibilities


As a member of our team, reporting to a Director/Partner, you will be expected to:



Drive business development activities to further strengthen and grow our Extended Enterprise Risk Management practice in Switzerland
Familiarize yourself quickly with new topics and bring these to the market
Build a strong network with the relevant contacts of our priority clients in Switzerland
Take ownership and independently manage client relationships, planning and delivering a range of Internal Audit services
Construct and supervise the team as well as develop and guide junior team members
Contribute to continuous improvement with regards to our methodology and offering – it is our ambition to always be one step ahead of the industry and competition
Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution


Requirements

As you will be part of our Strategic & Operational Risk leadership team we expect:



Experience in leading teams in a competitive market-place and being a successful in business developer
An eentrepreneurial mind-set to innovate, develop and grow our EERM practice
A deep understanding of third party risk management processes and controls, ideally gained through working for or with complex global organizations, which work with a range of third parties operating in high risk environments
Experience providing advice on procurement best practices, including category management planning, supplier risk assessment, supplier selection, contracting and ongoing supplier risk management
Experienced at managing third party compliance programs including multiple projects with management of a team to deliver those projects
A strong team player, with good communication skills, as well as a confident and professional demeanour when dealing with clients and colleagues
The ability to adopt a pragmatic approach to dealing with situations where confidentiality is important or where work is of a sensitive nature. Helping develop and maintain our clients relationships is integral to our business
An agile and analytical mind, and enjoy problem solving. You will be highly organized and have the ability to review your work critically as you will deliver quality work under time pressures


General Extended Enterprise Risk Management


In Extended Enterprise Risk Management, we perform a huge variety of projects helping our clients with their third party relationships. For example, supplier relationships constitute a significant proportion of the cost base of every organisation. We look for areas where our clients may not be receiving the intended value from the supply chain. Projects may involve analysing the entire process from supplier selection through to purchase and payment, identifying opportunities to deliver financial rewards and improve business operations. We also conduct royalty inspections for some of the world’s leading brands and industries such as media, pharmaceuticals, and luxury goods. Our team uses proven methods, including technical analysis, to verify the accuracy of reporting and identifies practices that may have an impact on our clients’ brands. One key benefit that often arises is identification of additional revenue, leading to higher profitability. Another service we offer relates to the business value that may be contained within its intellectual property (IP), such as patents, trademarks, designs or know-how. We help clients identify hidden IP within their organizations, consider their protection arrangements and opportunities to exploit these assets.
