Job Description Summary
Role Purpose
The Head Total Rewards Division will be working with the Lonza Division HR Leadership Team, HR Partners globally and business leaders, this role is responsible for managing overall planning and execution of the Total Rewards life cycle for the business Division. The role will provide both tactical and strategic advice to ensure compensation and benefits programs are competitive, sustainable, cost-efficient, impact Lonza’s short and long-term strategic goals and align to Lonza’s pay philosophy and approach. We are looking for an adaptable and global minded team member to be based in Basel/Switzerland or Morristown/USA.

Key Accountabilities and Duties
* Manage the design, development, implementation and on-going support of Total Rewards programs to drive pay for performance differentiation that links employee contributions to business results.
* Partner with HR BPs and the Divisions leadership teams to identify, assess and deliver effective compensation solutions that enable the business to realize division specific business plans.
* Serve as primary compensation point of contact to all Division internal stakeholders and assist with communication and education of compensation-related programs.
* Contribute to the analysis, design, implementation and communication of Lonza’s broad-based Total Rewards strategy.
* Manage execution of annual salary, bonus and merit planning processes for the Division.
* Provide guidance and consult HR Partners and the business on compensation package design for employee promotions, transfers and new hires, at senior management level.
* Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revisions in line with a Total Rewards approach, as well as new plans, which are cost effective and consistent with compensation & benefits trends and organizational objectives.
* Lead global Total Rewards projects or workstreams related to Lonza-wide Total Rewards initiatives such as, global grading, incentive plan design, recognition, well-being or other compensation and benefits programs within a Total Rewards framework.
* Contribute, based on demonstrated experience, to advanced data analytics, HR Metrics, workforce planning, M&A as well as communication, training and HR change initiatives.

Qualifications
* Education:
* Advanced degree (M.A. equivalent) in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent
* Language:
* Fluent in English plus one other language (preferred)
* Experience:
* Solid years of relevant functional experience in 1-2 industries
* Consulting / Project Management and Total Rewards / HR Analytics experience required
* Certifications:
* World at Work, HRCI, CIPD or equivalent
* Skills:
* Advanced Excel skills (minimum: Pivot table knowledge), VBA skills an advantage
* Affinity to derive data-based decisions with business impact
* Proven ability to establish compensation processes and governance
* Strong track record of multi-national Total Rewards project management / leadership
