Corporate Insurance Manager - EMEA

To strengthen our Global Procurement team, we are looking for an exceptional Corporate Insurance Manager - EMEA, based in Basel and reporting to the Global Category Leader – Facilities Management.

Role Purpose:

Responsible for insurance management matters across the EMEA region. Helps to set the strategic insurance management vision and is charged with delivering that strategy to the company. Owns the process of identifying, measuring and managing insurable or hazard risks, analysing risk/insurance problems and continuously seeks ways to optimize risk financing in the organization. Helps manage strategic brokerage relationships. Liaise with business partners in HR, EHS, Travel, Finance, etc. to ensure a fully aligned and comprehensive insurance program.

Key Accountabilities and Duties

•Provides the implementation, management, servicing and administration of the company’s insurance programs; supports the annual insurance policy renewals as well as premium and coverage negotiations
•Supports strategic relationships with third parties (agents, brokers, insurers, etc.)
•Acts as the contact/liaison for internal customers as well as for external stakeholders and partners (insurance carriers and brokers) for any insurance management issues and any insurance claims/losses; coordinates complex claims/loss settlement negotiations in the assigned region.
•Reviews contract/proposal documents to evaluate the terms and conditions related to risk allocation between the Company and the contracting party in order to identify exposures and contract terms that are not consistent with the company`s risk retention strategies
•Advises departments/sites as to insurance needs and applicable coverages and acts as the company-wide resource on addressing all insurance related questions and concerns
•Interacts with Corporate EHS to manage insurers risk audits and to track the completion of loss prevention recommendations

Furthermore you have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

•Bachelor (required) Field of study: Insurance/Risk/BusinessAdministration/Finance/Law
•Master degree (preferred) Field of study: Insurance/Risk/BusinessAdministration/Finance/Law
•German and English (required)
•Certification (ARM (Associate in Risk Management), CIB (Chartered Insurance Broker), CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter), CRM (Certified Risk Management), or equivalent
•Extensive experience in Insurance, Insurance Brokerage, Risk Management Consulting and/or Corporate Risk Management professions
